telescopic aerial

Hi again guys, i want to fit telescopic aerial , do i have to leave full length of wire on reciever or can it be shortened ?

Dont cut it!
The lenght on the resiver is there to get the right driverange.
just spin it around receiver and solder the end of it to the antenna.
