I think it's about time since these 3 speed trucks has been around for almost as long as me. You'd think it's time for a revolution in scale RC with a 4 speed. Too bad when that happens this forum does not welcome anythign but 3 speeds:LOL:

I think this is will be a great forum but they should include other like (Misc tamiyas) for tamiya classics so we can talk about cars like the avante, egress, and etc. :Tamiya1:

There may be another site for that at a later time. For now it's kept purposeful for 3-speeds for a particular reason in order not to stray too far from a centralized theme and tax our resources (extra moderators, bandwidth, etc).

The 3-speeds also hold a much wider variety of applications and build differences due to the body styling, transmission, suspension, and overall design of the vehicles.

I like that this forum is dedicated to just the three speeds. When you start allowing disscussions of other tamiya models, it dilutes the forum and it loses focus.

If you're looking to discuss other tamiya classics, try Tamiyaclub.com which is a great site for the discussion of all of Tamiya's line up.

I am glad to see I am not alone in thinking that the "narrow" focus of this forum is its strenght! Placing the semis in focus is a great thing, which alone justifies the existence of this site and forum.

We have, and most of us use Tamiyaclub, for an everything-that-is-Tamiya RC forum/gallery. There is also Tamiya101.com for a high quality gallery (peer reviewed) and some excellent restoration advice.

There are several forums that deals with modified crawlers and scale off road RC-trucks so keeping the 3-speeded gearboxes as the common denominator for this forum really positions is as a complement to all the others. I am interested in the semis and hope that they do not "drown" in all pick-up related material.

I really do not see the point in several overlapping forums where the same people repeat the same posts over and over again. This holds true for the pick-ups but not the semis as you find a lot less about them on the Internet.

I do not think they must release a 4-speed. I think that will be too much, but I really love the 3 speeds. You have choice of normal, fast, and extremely slow an torqueful driving. That are all the things you need.

Yeah, three speeds really aren't all that necessary in an RC, let alone four.
X2 for the other forums for general Tamiya RC talk, I like the dedicated 3speed forum.

the reason for three speeds are the three absolute points in a servo's motion, four would require a lot more accuracy and money

Or TSA club

I Think a misc. category may be too broad. But perhaps a category for Tamiya solid axle trucks may be in order. My favorites have always been the 4x4's with solid axles. The bruiser, jug, txt, tlt etc. These are the trucks I prefer to use, build and collect.

Currently I am between 3 speeds, I had a classic Hilux, but I sold it two years ago thinking a new 3 speed was on the way. Now that a new hilux is being released, I am starting to save money for the radio bearings and kit.

You can buy a 4 speed transmission made for the tamiya trucks, it's found in germany.

How about if I had three speed robot? Either way I think that it is important the site stays true to the title especially since it is a Tamiya based site.

I want a 6 speed and just to have two forums like this, then if you place a message for a 3 speed just do it in one forum, for 6 speed in both of them.

Also a MFU that allows us to have a DATA robot like the startreek one, and the box offering two Big Macs with big potatoes and coca :BewareSpam:

I think that this idea should be presented in the next Tamiya's directors meeting

(sorry just a joke!!!!!!)
