I just built 2 new Tamiya Semi Trucks, the Volvo and Scania. I am having trouble with the MFUs on both trucks, not being able to remotely switch the lights on/off, engine start/stop. I have read through the manual several times, ran through set-up procedure several times. I talked with Futaba Tech Support with no real solution provided. I have the Futaba T4EXA 4-Channel Digital Proportional Radio, don't know if the trims are analog or digital? I talked with Tamiya Tech Support as well and they could not help me either, other than saying I can send the unit to them for testing or reading this forum. I have to say that I'm amazed at the lack of knowledge from Futaba and Tamiya to help me get the MFU fully functional. Can anyone here help me get the light switching and engine starting/stopping functions working remotely?

Thank you,

Rowan

First off Futaba isn't going to know the works of a Tamiya MFU, so they can't really help. Tamiya can only do so much over the phone. Its much easier to troubleshoot in person, cause it could be the MFU, the radio, you could have the cables plugged in wrong to the MFU, etc.

It doesn't look like that model has digital trims, but I could be wrong.

If I remember correctly, to turn on/off the lights: First make sure all trims are centered. Then push the right virtical trim (ch4) all the way down. Then tap the right stick (ch4) down and release quickly. This should turn on one set. Do it again and then next set will come on. Do it again and then they should go off.

Thank you McFig! I figured out if I lowered the end points down to 90% on all 4 channels they worked. I'm very happy to finally be able to operate my trucks fully. Now all I have to do is figure why one truck beeps when turning left and all with be great!

Thanks again,

Rowan
