Hey guys

Just a little bit of help getting the bits i need.

I'm looking to build a race car transporter like you guys would see at Nascar or Indy events (sorry, can't find any decent pics of the one i'm replicating) and need some info on the best way to go about it. The trailer is a tri-axle but runs the smaller rims and lower profile tyres than any of the Tamiya Trucks or Trailers. I'm planning to use the Wedico rims and tyres (#746)

I'm thinking of using a reefer chassis and suspension setup and extending the neck up due to the reduced wheel size. Will this work? Or am i better off getting my hands on the reefer suspension setup and building the chassis from scratch?

extending the neck up? yes, that would work... but then, would you shorten the original and build up the neck, or extend it by building up the neck?? hmm....
the reefer is a very long chassis to begin with, almost a metre long.
the chassis is a very simple one.. you might be better off replacing it with a custom job, which would allow for a lower floor...and custom positioning of the suspension.

either way is good!

I like those low-profile tires!!

I like those tires as well, as with my 2nd trailer i'll be building the same as the OP.

I have 1/32 scale im going to mock from, and might get the pole trailer to start as a base and scratch build it up. now i just need to get them tires.

kewl, keep me updated on how and what you used, my truck is about 20% built waiting for the bearings to show up then ill finish it, and then the work begins on a transport trailer.
