I am looking for some info on my King Hauler. I have the MFU installed, no extra lights, or options. The truck was working fine and now it get about ten feet from me and shuts down. Then starts back up, goes a little crazy, lilghts flash, front wheels turn, then shuts down again! I bout new batteries for both the truck and transmitter, a Futaba. Ive double checked my wires, by the motor, and the antennas. Any info would be very helpful, things getting frustrating!

The MFC-01 will shut down and restart if it loses signal from the receiver, or if the main battery is low/weak... sometimes electrical noise (from the motor etc) can trigger it too... Ive had mine go crazy when I've driven it over electrical power cables, even cables buried under footpaths.....
also, the combination of left stick to the right and right stick down will turn the truck off from the remote; make sure both sticks are centred.

*check the crystals (if you're using crystals) in the transmitter and the receiver.... loose/faulty crystals can cause this too.

Is there anything other than crystals a guy can run in the radios? Ive double an triple checked everything on the truck chassis, but replace them crystals. Thats my next move unless there is a better option out there?

well, there's PLL (phase lock loop) but that still has a crystal, just not a removable one. those are the Tx/Rx that have the 'thumbwheels' to dial up the channel..
or
corona make scanning receivers..

the clue you've given me is 'the steering going a little crazy'... which points to the radio link.

if it was just MFC shutdown, the steering would not (well, should not) be affected..
but a momentary loss of radio signal would def make it do that, and that -could- be caused by a faulty crystal.

also check the transmitter's battery tray... I know with mine, sometimes the springy bits go slack and the batteries can slop around a little. an intermittant contact here can cause problems too..

but my money's on the crystals.. have you got a different pair? or can borrow some, just to check?

good luck!!

Hey, Thanks for the help. The only thing that I havnt changed is the crystals, an they are not that expensive I believe, so Ill pick up a set.
