I am restoring an old Bruiser, and I can't put in the old transmission as it is, the beige/white silicone sealant is all over it and it looks horrible.
What is the fastest way to get that stuff off ? just picking it off will take forever so I'm thinking a soft wire wheel, or some kind of solvent ..... any suggestions ?

Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help you there. Hopefully others will chime in.

I have found the best way to remove silicone is by rubbing it off with your bear fingers. it works surprisingly well.

a fiend of mine told me to use zippo lighter fluid and it not only loosened it up to where it peeled of easy if you put it on a rag it cleans off the cases well too. it worked for me and its less than a buck a can.
