Is the1/14 Scania R470 Highline RC Truck compatable with all the options Tamiya offers? You know, the MFU, animal guard, roof spoiler, telescopic antenna and etc...

Hi!
The mfc01 will fit, but it will be a tight squeeze if you want to leave the seats in.(the manual suggests taking the seats out..) some constructors do leave the seats in, by mounting the mfc on its side using a L bracket, and Ive heard of the vibration unit being squeezed under the floor... there isnt much room in there!

the animal gaurd fits best on the king hauler or globeliner; it will go on the knight and aeromax, those have curved front bumpers..doesnt look/fit as good as the king/globeliner; but it wont fit the scania or volvo as their front bumpers have different spacing and lower position on the mounting screws, and will foul the body when tilted.
the roof spoiler works best on the king and globeliner, as both of these have a lower, flatter roofline; and the scania has a roof spoiler integrated in its design anyway. you could use a roof spoiler if you left the original spoiler off...I prefer the original though.

the telescopic antenna could be fitted to any one of the models..

hope this helps!!

Thanks, much appreciated.

After weeks of trying to decide what to purchase, I picked up a Kinght Hauler today :Tamiya1:

ahh, the knight... a beautifull model, and one of the longest chassis...
I got one of those as my first truck, a metallic one.
There's plenty of room inside for the mfc, and if you get two telescopic antennas, you could use them instead of two of the screws that hold the body down to the floorpan. (I do!)

good luck with the build!!

Sigh.....

The Knight Hauler I purchased on eBay was a fraud. Seller had 100% feedback and I guess just decided just to steal from people. I'll get a refund through PayPal but the search continues for a decently priced Knight Hauler.

eh?? fraud!!?? thats not supposed to happen on ebay anymore...
what was the seller's id?
paypal'll do the right thing by you, they're very good.
please let us all know what the results are...

I've found a trading site that is full of frauds.. Alibaba.com ..its a site for wholesalers and distributors.
BUT: nearly 100% of Indonesian traders are frauds, very hard to find a real seller from that country, for any product from toilet paper to quad bikes and cars. sure, there are frauds in other countries, but Indonesia is rancid with them... and the local authorities wont do a thing to stop them.

new story: Alibaba.com and the forty thousand theives.

stella is very quick
i have a friend that bought from dinball and had to get angry before he got his packages

that's odd for dinball.. both of them are very big turnover sellers, so I'd expect a three day processing time for each..
small turnover sellers usually post within 2 days.. but larger orgainisations take three or four to process an order.
odd.. very odd that dinball took extra time. I've never had a problem with them.. but then, I might just be lucky...
I have had problems with some other sellers.....one that usually posts really quick had to be reminded twice, and overall took four weeks, yet other buyers have had zero problems with them...

thats why I love paypal.. its saved me heaps in bank fees (the banks charge a fortune here to do currency transfer) and Paypal has the added safety of being able to get your money back if something went wrong.

who was it you bought from and didnt perform? If you dont want to say in public, send me a PM or an email...

cheers!

bigggbidr2 was his eBay account name. Though his eBay and PayPal account no longer exist.

I'll just throw in my 2 cents. I have ordered from Stellamodels and they are fast and accurate. I have the Knight Hauler as well, but I have to wait until it gets warm enough to paint it before I can assemble. Bummer.

warmer? Oh, er, OK!.... Im on the other side of the planet, its starting to get cooler here!!

I bought a knight as my first truck, and to avoid painting, I got the metallic version..
I have since learnt...
If you put a scratch on a painted one, you can re-paint it..
but if you scratch a metallic one, its 'scarred for life'...

I've bought stuff from lots of different sellers, and the only thing I can say about stellamodels is sometimes they OVERPACK! which is fine by me....
