I am trying to build a functional low-budget truck. I am currently laid-off so my budget is practically nil. I have many raw supplies and odd parts. I managed to kitbash a Tamiya VW Toureg and a cheap department store transport truck into a functional truck to pull my trailer. Unfortunately the coupler for the trailer is made of really cheap plastic and simply cannot withstand the weight of the trailer with a load. I was considering scratch building one from brass. Does anyone have any experience and/or suggestions for me before I begin? I am also looking for the Tamiya manual for the single rear axle trucks so that I can build one of my own from scratch. (Haven't had much luck on the Tamiya site) If anyone could email it to me that would be great! (mdbotting@hotmail.com)
