Just got my RTR Tundra from Tamiya . What a huge letdown! The body was scratched and the chrome on the lightbar and front bumper was rubbed down to the black plastic. The windshield was also scratched and the left mirror was torn off. I called Tamiya and got the usual , "send it back and we'll send you another one"but as luck would have it I'm leaving on vacation Sat. and I definitely want to bring it with cuz I'm a terrible fisherman . Anyway that's my story so BE CAREFUL buying the RTRs from Tamiya ! Also , when the truck is standing still and I go in reverse , it clicks for a couple seconds and then starts to move! I think I got stuck with a REAL lemon ! It kinda figures I would have bad luck!! I gotta say I'm really disappointed in their customer service!

I sorry to hear that. I haven't heard of others getting bad ones like that. I know Tamiya will replace it for you, but it is a pain to have to go through that.

Yeah that's the whole problem , I can't return it . I suggested they send me a replacement body , but no response so far . That seems like the logical choice.

you could say, heck with it and bring it on your vacation
have fun and beat it around
when you get back strip it down and customize it
that's what i'd do

Oh it's comin with me , that's for sure! The response I got was that " the body is NOT warranteed after the trucks been used" . THAT'S how far removed they are on this problem . I TOLD them that the truck had NOT been used , but ARRIVED like this! Boy, Kyosho is lookin better all the time!

" the body is NOT warranteed after the trucks been used"
I’m sure they meant that you should send the whole truck in, so they have a chance to document the problem or problems, so it doesn’t happen again to another customer. If you run the truck this weekend they loose the chance to see the problem. Also, if you run the truck this weekend and heaven forbid you take a tumble, how are they to know what was messed up from the factory and what was a tumble by the driver? I know procedures are not always convenient, but it sounds to me they are more than willing to give you a completely new truck.

I took pics while unpacking it and was on the phone with customer support , so they KNOW the body was damaged.
