I probably can't help myself but to order at least one of these new Toyota Hilux High Lift.

Are there any differences in the body compard to the orginal? I see that there is no interior on the show model but is everything else the same all the way down to the color shade of the sticker. If so I'm getting another body for my Mountaineer:Tamiya1:

The body isn't a brand new mold, but an updated tooling of the original.

I'll double check at work tomorrow.

If they use the same body on the Toyota Hi Lux that they used for the limited re release Mountaineer body set, it is exactly identical to the original Mountaineer body. Decals are identical as well. I bought one of the re release body sets and compared it to my, at the time, NIB Mountaineer. I didnt see a difference. The re release body set came with body mount pieces to mount the Toyota body on the Hi lift. The front body mount attatches to the upper front shock mounts. The rear mount attatches on top of the rear frame rails, under the bed. The funny thing about this is the fact that Tamiya gives you a flat piece of metal you have to cut and bend yourself for the mount pieces. I'll post pictures if anyone wants to see.

I have been trying to find a picture of the Hilux High Lift.

Anybody want to point me in the right direction?

The picture above is the Picture from one of the Hobby shows here in Japan. That is for the Limited event Body and is not the Hilux.

This picture is of the Prototype Hilux that is in the Europen sales catalog. Notice the silly little Fog lights and the Chrome Pajero Wheels. Sorry for the small picture but there is a bigger one on tamiyaclub.

I haven't received any pictures of the final version, only the prototype stage.

From the initial pictures, it looks to be indeed the original Mountaineer body with several tweaks. Until we actually get a sample, we won't be able to properly identify exactly how much more detail has been added

I can't wait to throw some fresh paint on my Mounty and new chrome. I just wish they found a way for chrome not to fade over time.

I am hoping they fill the hole in the bed for the radio box switch that came through. it also looks to have mirrors on both sides and what I am guessing is high lift wiper blades, which I have on my clone and I think look awesome :)

I have put highlift wipers on a few different bodies. Brat, Clod, Blackfoot, midnightpumpkin and even lexan

Dude! tell me about it. Just when I think I got all I want, Big T comes out with another "Mo hot stuff" to drain my wallet.
