Anyone know where I can find a Blazer/Hilux specific transmission break down/repair manual? Most are with the Bruiser transmission and say apply to the BB/Hilux trans too but I'd like to see one with the actual BB/Hilux trans.

the 2 trans are VERY much alike.
You can swap the ends back and forth without any worries. The tail section guts are the same, just the front shaft output isn't clocked as far.
Front section is just different spur and motor plate

I have put a few hilux/blazer front sections of the bruiser trannies and vice versa. Even swapped a tail out to a hilux/blazer for the extra ground clearence.

So don't feel like you need a specific manual, it is very close

Good deal. Yeah, now that I have one of each, looking at the two they are not exactly the same and wasnt't sure how much is different.

I know this is a very old thread, but I only just scanned the exploded view of the Blazing Blazer transmission, so here are the links:

Here's the link to the exploded view of the tranny without parts listing:

I hope someone finds this useful.

nchan71,

Thanks for posting the exploded view, is it the same transmission for the 3-speed Hilux 4x4 (model # 58028)?

Yes, the Hilux (58028) has the same 3 speed transmission as the Blazing Blazer (58029).
