well i got some more work on the hl scout done. ive seen alot of threads posted about finding odd things to make roof racks out of so i want on my own search...
i found this, its a rubber made screen mesh business card holder and its about the same width as the top of my scout body.
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h92/twisteds2fast4u/highliftupdate033.jpg
so i preceded to cut off the top with the trusty dremel tool...
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h92/twisteds2fast4u/highliftupdate034.jpg
notice the handle for the top ?it will make a nice cover to protect the lights on the roof of the scout...

a bit more....
after doing a little "eye" measuring i drilled 4 holes in the new roof rack and 4 in the body. i mounted using 4 screws, washers and nuts.
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h92/twisteds2fast4u/highliftupdate037.jpg
a peek from the front....see how the handle of the card holder looks like it was meant to protect the lights ?

and a side shot,

hey guys.. here are some more updates...
i put the diaz springs on in the rear, not front yet.they gave me a slight lift but not much and i gained maybe 2-3mm of articulation, remember i just have them in the rear so far.
here is a pick with stock leafs (the main leaf and the 2nd smallest anti wrap spring)

diaz leafs in the rear...

heres another little item i had made up for me...rock sliders !
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h92/twisteds2fast4u/scalestuff-1.jpg
not painted but here they are test fitted on the truck...

well boys i got all the diaz leafs on and gained nothing in the way of articulation but it raised the ride height due to the arc of the spring.i may gain some articulation after the springs wear in.
heres some shots, compare to the pics above...
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h92/twisteds2fast4u/highliftupdate046.jpg
here ya can see the rear wheel was off the ground a bit but iam guessing that the springs will wear in some.

I find it really a great rig, but maybe It's even nicer when you put some 40 size wheels on it. Or lower the body a little.

Well considering those look like 1.9's or 2.2's, 40 series would be too big.

40 series ? :omg: way to large of a tire. those are 1.9's on it now.
