I have noticed that alot of the guys powder coat the frame and some the axles and transmission on their trucks. My main question is about powder coating the axles and tranny. I know that the powder coating process requires heat to set the powder. Do the axles and tranny require any special treatment to stand up to ths heat?

Thanks.

in a way yes
you should put them on a sturdy flat sheet that will not warp when heated and cooled, at least that is what I was told by the guy who did mine.

Are there any shops (that have experience in powder coating RC items) that are willing to do powder coating for folks outside of the USA?

Hey Guys,

I've done tons of powder coating on R/C trucks and Cars. When you powder coat keep this in mind: You can powder coat anything, as long as its able tostand up and not melt in temps above 350 degrees F. So no plastic. When you powder coat I bead blast my metal parts with an aluminum oxide powder. This give the surface something for the powder to stick to. The parts must be suspended to be powder coated. I just finished powder coating some bruiser frame rails this past tuesday, july 8. I 'll do powder caoting for anyone who would like it done. Contact me at KX4019@cfl.rr.com for details. I charge a flat rate, plus powder and shipping. Powder runs around $3-$4 bucks a pound.
