I have a NIB Jugger II :Tamiya1:, which I wish to convert to 3 speed. Does anybody have some idea how to do, I mean of course I would need a 3 speed gearbox...etc, but some pictures maybe :link:

Moved from non-3speed

if you are trying to add a 3speed it would belong here not non-3speed forum

(I know a bit confusing but we like it that way)

Well bolting it in shouldt be much of a problem, but getting the correct gearing would be the interesting part. If it were mine I would get a pinion and spur that would make 2nd gear match the stock juggy trans. That way you have the option of running it stock, low gear, or high gear, or just run up through all 3.

Also Another thing I would probably do is use a highlift trans but build a custom motor plate to allow the use dual motors, like the juggy has originally.

Thanks, I din't think about the gearing what I guess is the point about this.

That sounds pretty cool, although I'd hate to see a NIB Juggy built other than stock.
Good idea with keeping 2nd gear around the Jugg trans gearing, which is pretty low, some where around 10:1 trans reduction I think.

ya, I figured leaving it in second gear you'd had stock jugg performance, shift dwon to 1 and get a ton of torque for wheelies and jumping "crushed cars" etc.. and shift up to 3rd for a high speed romp.

I built a 3-speed Juggernaut several years ago, way before the current revival of the 1/10 scale trucks.
At the time, i had called it the "Neo-Bruiser". The 3-speed transmission that was used was from the big rig series. Here are some pictures of the internals, hopefully they will be of help.

This is the picture of the transmission mated to the Juggernaut tranny, utilizing it like a transfer case.

This was one of my favorite trucks, it ran very well despite having just one 540 motor, and was actually quite 'scale' in performance.
The oil dampers were Traxxas units with the springs removed, and did a great job while looking somewhat scale.
The 3-speed was plenty robust, and held up to many hours of operation without any issues- despite the lack of a slipper clutch.

This truck doesn't exist anymore unfortunately, at least not in a 4x4 incarnation. It has been since rebuilt into a 6WD 3-speed...

Hiya...I was just doing a search on 3-speed Juggernauts and stumbled on this site.

I got inspired to build a 3-speed Jug from Weeb some time ago...Maybe this'll give you some ideas... http://imageevent.com/torquer/triton
...sadly sold it a while back.

I've recently got the itch to build another 3 speed Jugg. Just need to find a reasonably priced project truck.
