Does anyone know where I can buy gear reduction units for my king hauler? I find that the truck runs way too fast.
Thanks.

Go to www.gardentrucking.com and look under the Tamiya King Hauler picture. There is listed a reduction unit complete with the correct driveshafts for it. HTH!! Ihave seen them and seen them used. They work GREAT!!

Thanks mate,
they look mighty fine. But also has steep price to match!
But at least I know there is something available in the market. Has anyone done their own custom gear reduction unit for the hauler?
Cheers!

If you have any machinst skills you can modify one of the electric airplane motor reduction units to use on the motor side of the tranny. Just keep in mind the added height and body placement.

This is about a cheaply as a gear reduction can be done. About $20 from Tower Hobbies. Works great. Just not as nice looking as the PMD one but you cant see it when the rig is right side up.

Sadly, I don't have the skills (nor the space!) to do machining....would love to have that option but...sigh...well, maybe in the future. Thanks anyway.

The pinion is the 12 tooth available from Great Planes. The output shaft on the tranny does have to be machined down. I got the conversion already done from a buddy that decided to use a different style reduction. I'm not sure how he did it, I just know that it works very well! I miss the top speeds at times but it is very drivable now and easier to back up now!
