Are Hilux chrome part really dark?

Got my Hilux highift over a week ago. I notice the chrome parts (bumpers, roll bar and hights on top are really dark chrome almost black is this normal? I compare mine with the Hilux pictures at the Tamiya hobby show it does not look as dark as the one I have. Is this normal?

The lighting, monitor, and color settings may affect the overall visual appearance of the pictures.

The chrome seems really light to me and really dark to others (here at work).

My chrome is pretty dark. Frankly I'm not diggin' it, but with a little elbow grease and some sticker-residue remover the black can be removed.

The wheels, however, are brilliant. Too bad the headlight buckets are so dark.
