Firstly,Hello everybody and what an excellent site this is.
I've been into rc more years than i care to remember.
RC cars IMHO need gearboxes to make them more realistic and versatile, why this has nearly always been overlooked apart from a few models has always amazed me. Cost has obviously always been a factor, but if i had my way, somebody would be making true 1/8th scale 4 cylinder watercooled 4 strokes deisels with 5speeds and reverse with manual clutches, that would surely entertain and lets face it, if we had something like that, who would need more than one???

Anyway, back to the real world.
I have a pajero xc and a 3speed truck gearbox that needs to be put in.
Somewhere I have seen a photo of this done but cannot remember where i've seen it.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the links but the 3speed box i have is from a 1/14 semi.
I have seen some photos of this transplant somwhere but can't remember where.
I've got a hilux in bits , but putting the gearbox from that in ? - the word "sacrilidge" springs to mind.
Thought about just buying a hi-lift but neither of them quite look right, whereas if you saw scaled up Tamiya Pajero parked up in a carpark, you wouldn't bat an eyelid, if you know what i am trying to say.

Good luck with that then, deffinately keep the hilux gearbox i thought you had a spare.
The only other alternative i can think of is to buy a cheap hi-lift and body swap with the pajero.
Shorten the chassis rails and away you go, might be easier.
Just a thought keep us posted on your progress, it's always good to see someone thinking outside the box.
