Is the Tamiya Bruiser Bearing Kit from RC4WD compatible with the Hilux? I distinctively remember I saw somewhere it's identical except it's missing 1 non-flanged bearing?
Also would it be possible to adapt the bruiser's spur gear into the Hilux? Or would there be no point, I read that RC4WD is coming out with an alloy spur gear but I have not seen it on their website yet
Thanks

A used hilux transmission I bought awhile back came with a metal spur gear in it. It looks fairly old, too. Must have been a hop up from the 80's.

If I remember right, the Montaineer tranny I put bearings in had the same bearing count as the blazing blazer tranny I rebuilt.

the spurs are not compatible as the Hilux has a different motor housing than the bruiser.
Spakrjs, your metal gear was most likely a Race Prep gear.

I have a metal spur gear for the Hilux/blazer gear box. It was made by a Australian company called "RPM" long gone now i guess. Never used it, waiting till i need it...here are some pics of it, with a half worn standard plastic one
