Well, as many people say that the jugg was absolutely a **** to drive.... Personally I don't care about that because it's just fun because of that. But most people do not want it then...

I'd guess that sales in Japan indicate what goes in and out of production.

C'mon, Larrio, let's go to JP and set 'em straight! Juggs for everyone!

But really...of Tamiya's global market, which country comprises the majority of sales?

the jugg was a poor design in every aspect.
txt is a better design, just heavy and over priced.

The mamouth dump truck was a pretty neat idea, to bad it's gone

Obviously you guys never owned one. Like William said, the chassis was a piece of %*&^%*&^. I would imagine Tamiya would like to forget this little piece of history.

Last I heard, Japan sells more than the entire world combined. (unofficial)

For the static models & radio control ? Or just the models ? Or just the R/C ?

actually I own both jugg 1 and 2 and have a runner I think its a great truck for regular folks who run the truck. its not gonna win any rock crawling championships, beat anyone in straight races, but just a darn good fun truck to drive.

Compared to other trucks out there, the chassis really shows it's weaknesses.

The suspension is way too stiff.

you need the jugg two upgrade on the axles unless you like changing gears every other battery pack.

The driveshafts don't last very long.

I could go on but I won't

actually the gearing in the axle is wrong, and why it eats driveshafts. The leaf spring system is to stiff, and if you 4 link it the next problem is bump steer because of where the servo is mounted. Wheelbase is to short for reall offroad use with all the weight riding up high too.

I owned one, and it was the one tamiya I hated more than any R/C ever. I switched to racing USA-1's for 2 years because of the taste the jugg left in my mouth. I've owned almost every tamiya kit since the first 2 SRB's and wish I still had them.

There are many more models tamiya did right that deserve a second issue long before the jugg debackle

I see several complaints on the Juggernaut's construction. Be that as it may, be it far from perfect. Does it really matter if it is fun to drive? Personally, I do not necessarily think that a model must be great in order to be fun...

That is why I, and several others, love Tamiyas such as Audi quattro, Wild Willy and the like. They handle like a brick but are still a hoot to drive! :Tamiya1:

So, I for one, understand those who miss the Juggernaut, even though it had its faults.

Funny thing, it stiff leafs/suspension (or otherwise poor construction such as a fragile radio box/flexible chassis) are reasons not for re-releasing a model, I guess nobody would be interested in a re-released Toyota 4x4/Blazing Blazer or SRB...

OT@Larrio, I have heard the figure of 70 % as an estimate of Tamiya's domestic sales (Japan) percentage of their total sales. I have no idea if its is its entire production or just its RC-lineup.

I like the Jugg a lot probably mostly because of the cool body.

I still have my Jugg 1 from way bakc only been ran a few times mainly indoors or carpet to so is un-damaged etc. now on collecting dust lol it was to top heavy for my liking but looked like monster truck should very realistic comapred to the clod etc.

Is mine worth anything? have the kit assembled, painted etc and manual

Thanks

Lee.

I drove my Jugg2 for the first time in 4 years about a week ago

as for the tailshaft (driveshaft) problems...

my TXT-1 ate them too - and that is with the stock silvercans!

that now has Tmaxx/Emaxx parts in it and I have not had any problems since

the Jugg2 will be updated soon as I have got it running again...

the Jugg2 seems to be the worst offender of the two as it is still using a MSC!

not for long though as I will use my Novak Super rooster in both my Jugg2 and TXT-1
