Take your time .. And don't make the same mistake I did - USE THREATLOCK AND GREASE ..
I had to rebuild certain parts since screws kept falling off when driving for a few minutes (like drive shafts).
Do you intend to use the MFU (Multi-Function Control Unit) ? If so, try to buy both and start putting the MFU while you build the truck itself - makes it a lot easier ..
What I don't know is how the MFU works toegther with other motors ..

MFU and other motors are OK as long as you go to a higher turn motor. I run a 35 turn motor in my military King Hauler with MFU and have no problems with it. I am going to use a 55 turn motor in the next military truck but it will not have a MFU- no room for it!! I must add that you should definitally take your time building your truck an also get the MFU and install it as you go. Much easier to install as you build the truck. Good Luck with the build!

Actually, like you already asked in your thread (http://www.tamiya3speed.com/forum/showthread.php?t=595) about advice on the R470, the answer remains the same for a King Hauler.
And yes, higher turn motors than the stock Tamiya silvercan are OK for use with the MFU.

When you open you’re king hauler box there will be a small bag containing a manual correction and some setscrews on top…. Open it, en read it first… I didn’t and had to do some rebuilding.
Get a F350 high-lift ball-bearing sett, it contains all the bearings you need + a few extra.
Bearings make building a lot easier, since you won’t need to grease up all the axels and it expands the life of you’re truck and keeps maintenance to a minimum. (Unless you are planning on running in water) Installing bearings later means tearing down the entire truck and is not recommended!
I am running an 80 turn in my king hauler and a 60 turn in my hilux high-lift, both fitted with the multifunction, after tc1cat told me it was safe, which it was (tanks by the way)
The 80 turn makes it ridiculously slow in first and second but it’s strong as a bull, which is just the way I like it! (Stock motor is way to fast in my opinion, lathe is a must ;) )
The only down side I can see using a lathe motor is that they are heavy to turn, resulting in some motor braking when you release the throttle at speeds. Of course this problem escalates with the amount of turns on the motor… so a 55t shouldn’t be so bad.
A final tip, start painting the body first, that way the body may be almost finished when the truck is finished. But familiarise you’re self with the final steps of the instructions first tho (so you don’t forget anything or mess it up)
Have Fun Building

Does anyone have instructions for the king hauler? I'm kitbashing a 1/6th M3 halftrack using the tranny and I don't have all of the instructions. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a nice day
