Hey everybody just ordered my Tamiya Ford F-350 high lift. I need some time served advice, I'd like to do a really nice paint job, not sure whether to go for a nice shiny look or a matt military style if I go this way anybody got any advice how to do it, come to think of it any advice on painting the body would be great I'll probably be using spray cans for the job. Also what wheels and tyres do you guys think look the best for beefing the look up a bit.....:Tamiya1:

Rock stompers or rock crawlers for tires.
And some sort of bedlocks rims ?

Hopefully you ordered bearings for the truck when you ordered it. This is probably the best hop-up you can give it. Main thing in painting with spray cans is not to try and completely cover the model with just one coat of paint. This can cause runs. Best advise- take your time!!! Enjoy a great rc truck!!

Cheers Pete359 whats your choice of shop for those? tc1cat I work for an engineering company and we deal with a bearing supplier so the bearing are on the way. I know what you mean when you say take your time I recently restored a clod buster and sprayed that in the excitment got a couple of little runs ( gutted ). I'm just not sure what colour scheme to go with. I've looked at the gallery on here and although there are some nice ones theres nothig that takes my eye

You can visit www.rc4wd.com or www.rcrockcrawling.com for the tires.

Cheers Pete359 thats great I do like the rock crusher tyres and True Scale Series 2.2 Narrow Beadlock Wheels
BL22N they seem to be out of stock on both web sites although the bl22n wheels are very nice. I'm torn whether to invest in wheels and tyres first or go for the mfu!

Do you really need the MFU?
I just mounted light kit from 3racing, since i don't want the sound.
I Don't like the option Tamiya made with the MFU.

My buddy got the MFU in his F-350, so I know how it works.

I would like it, I wouldn't use it all the time. I want it to do everything really I've watched the high lift videos on you tube so its going off road as weel. What do you mean when you say you dont like the option? Dont you think its worth the money?

I mean that all of the stuff they have put in it, don't really work as it does in a real car.
You can't turn the sound of too just drive with lights, and its stupid that you can't turn on and of the top lights with the radio.
The highbeam dont work as it shoud ether.

No, I'm not that found of the MFU-2.

Ah right I didn't realise I thought you'd be able to turn the sound off to drive the truck and then be able to turn individual sets of lights on their own. So what have you used for the lights?

Looks good mate will it come with enough lights to do all the main lights and the roll bar lights to.

You need to buy some extra leds for the roll bar and you need to change the rear lights from 5mm led to 3mm led.
