i'm currently building a Paris-Dakar sytle buggy. I've bought a bruiser tranny to put in it and was wondering is it possible to fit a 550 size motor on it? Also would it handle a brushless motor?

Brushless, I say no. Get a highlift trans if you want brushless power.

to use a 550 motor, you would either need the rc4wd adapter palte or the bellhousing and spur gear from the original hilux.
I second the vote for the hi lift tranny.

thanks for your help. i thought the bruiser tranny would be better for brushless cos it has metal gears instead of plastic like the hi lift. has anyone use a brushless motor in either a hi lift or bruiser transmission?

there have been a few who use brushless in the highlift
novak goat crawler is a popular one
but
some lunatic put a really fast novak system in a highlift and has the video bashing the heck out of it on youtube. 35 mph flips and barrel rolls, more money than brains.
