Radios with digital trims have problems with the MFU in the semis. Some guys don't have problems but a lot do. I don't think that the micro servos have enough torque to even use for shifting the tranny. Might be OK for remote 5th wheel locking and unlocking but not for anything else. I use the Futaba Skysport on ground freq for my semi. Latest truck will have a Traxxass TQ3 with a 3 postion switch for changing gears. I like wheel radios verses stick radios.

TC's right on the money. A Skysport 4ch is the ticket if you are OK with a stick radio, the Attack is good also. Either one is easy to find and not a lot of money. I stay with the standard sized Futaba S3004 servo for shifting but, I prefer a hi-torque metal geared servo for steering. About the only micro components I'd recommend is the receiver.

I have 5 of the older style Futaba "4wd" 4ch radios they come with shift gate for stick, They don't cost much and work great in my Hilifts and my Tamiya Tanks. I don't know about the new version of the radio which looks more complicated and harder to use.

You said that you use a Futuba skysport for your semi. I've only found air freq. for these. Can you shange them to a ground freq?

Thank you very much for your imput. I cnt find the suggested radio (v4wd) from Tamiya. All the dealers that i've contacted so far have discontinued them.

They make the 4yf skyport in 75mhz FM. the only down side is that the throttle stick is a ratchet. I opened mine up and switched the ratcheting mech with the spring from the right side. This works out killer
