Is that the 1/20 dump truck ?
Not sure if they are rare, but you can get them on eBay very frequently, even though the pricy varies

I think if you saw one you'd know why. It's a monstrosity and was made in relatively low quantities (in comparison to other kits)

it shares the chassis and driveline with the juggs. just has different tires, wheels, and body. Prolly a few other small differances but those are the mains.

Yeah, it really is just a rare kit. Not many were made and it is very unique. It has the same tranny as the TXT, but with a unique gear down add-on. Its a single motor truck.

Here's mine:

Its a cool kit. I bought mine about 5 years ago, as it was something a bit "different" from regular trucks. Its slow, but has loads of torque as it's got a reduction unit bolted to the front of its juggernaut 2 transmission. Its powered by a single 540 motor, has an electronic/mechanical speed control (mechatronic) and a "plus 1 channel unit", which allows you to raise and lower the dump bed remotely using a 2 channel radio.
They are rare but not very desirable. But buying second hand gets you a lot of tamiya hardware for your money.
I bought another for its chassis, which is going to become a 3 speed monster truck.
The spare shell was donated for a tamiya club competition last year:

It certainly attracts attention, and can transport a 6 pack of beers from fridge to living room in about 20 seconds.

What does the unique gear down add-on do? Do you mean it has 2 gear-ratios to switch between? thanks.

It's a giant gear reduction unit designed to go with the original jugg2 transmission.

What Larrio said. It just gears it down to slow the truck down for realizm and give you torque to haul around the loads.... like 6 packs of beer.
But I didn't realize that the Jugg 2 and the TXT have the same transmission. Recently I compaired the Mammoth tranny and the TXT because I was thinking of fitting that gear down unit to make my TXT more of a crawler. In any case, they have the same transmission parts except for the gear down add-on unit on the front.
So, Jugg 2 and TXT have the same tranny.

To give you a good indication of its size. You can put a 1/12th scale Tamiya Hummer in the bed with room to spare. If you buy one make sure you use an analog trim radio with it. Mine would not work correctly with a DX6 radio. Had to go back to an old AM radio for it. I really enjoy mine!

Can't find much vdieos of it. Most especially in Youtube. So, basicallly...the chassis is a juggernaut 2 with single motor and reduction gearunit?

Body mounts, bumpers, and the bed lift are the only real differences. Plus the tires!
McFig

I don't think its the same chassis, but I could be wrong.
I think the basic idea is that its based off the Jugg 2 with a single motor and reduction gear unit, but Larrio would know more then I.

Nice buy!
More info if anyone's interested:
The reduction unit is actually quite compact. It contains an extra spur gear, and the motor is fitted with a clod 13 tooth pinion.
Axles and the rest of the transmission are all Juggernaut 2 parts. Chassis frame, suspension and rear bumper are all Juggy 2 also.
The TXT-1s center gearbox is slightly different from the juggernaut 2 one - its got 2001 embossed into it - its altered to accommodate the txt's larger bearings on its output shafts.
Body, radio decks, front bumper support, MESC, plus 1 channel unit and rear bed tilting hardware are all unique to the mammoth kit.

Have fun building the kit!
I've recently been on the hunt for one of these suckers, but it's hard to find one that the seller isn't trying to get 800 for....
To think my LHS used to have them for 300 dollars, and I always passed them up LOL!

I wonder if it can be modded to fit a 1/14 semi?

Might be cheaper to just get the reduction unit from 4wd or gardentrucking ..

I guess you're right. Was just curious about the shape and how it may fit the semi chassis. Since it's so hard to find this kit, I guess ordering parts would be out of the question....well, just a thought.
agree with you on simply buying the gear reduction unit elsewhere...

I doubt it would fit. I mounts where the twin motor plate normally fits onto the juggernaut 2 transmission, so its wider than 2 540's side by side.

Looking at my system, it seems some of the parts are still available.
A lot of the cross-referenced parts are heavily ordered.

Well after doing some searching, I found a mammoth for 450 dollars, not as cheap as I could have gotten one a couple of months ago, but it will do. I sold off my NIB Dyna Blaster to get the funds, and I should have it in a couple of weeks!!!:omg::Tamiya1:
