Hey guys I just got my F350 and I would like to upgrade my Axles to metal ones rather then plastic. I have found various offerings from around the world, but I was wondering if any one here can recommend a set for my truck. I have checked out the ones from RC Channel and they look more realistic then other's but are they as tough as others? The price is considerably less compared to the other's (because the diffs, internal axles, bearings, etc... are all included in their price. So any one have any ideas?

Thanks, but that doesn't really tell me much, other then it doesn't look like guys like the RC channel axles very much. Are they as tough as others? Which ones do you guys like more?

Can only say about RC Channel :
The diff housing seems to be SLIGHTLY smaller than any other type (but that must be a bonus in most peoples eyes - why tamiya didn't make the originals smaller i cant understand esp if you see the XC's/CC01 scale-look rear axle)
They are made of a similar metal to the Hilux/Bruiser i.e. cheap pot metal, but they appear to be quite strong(the front hubs in particular)
The hex hubs needed filing to get them to run true
They weigh a ton
IMHO they look more scale than anybody else's offering
No option for 4WS
The things seem glued together so can hold oil (they just don't look to be made to take apart too easily to lock the diff)
Ball-raced
Hope that helps

Ok, thanks for the information jizzie. Its hard to get an idea about something when you can't see it before you buy them and at 230 (for both and all the hardware) it's not cheep. As you noted they are smaller and look a little more scale, as for the 4WS I still haven't decided how much I would like to keep it. The big reason I like the 350 is it's scale looks and construction and since the real 350 doesn't have 4WS then I think I will not worry about it. My biggest concern is if the RC channel axles are durable? Also I was wondering about the front hubs, will they take the punishment of rock climbing? I have done a few mods to my truck (JunFac lift kit, and 2.2's with bead locks from JunFac) other then that I think the only other mod will be the metal axles for looks and better durability then the plastic stock ones. Any one else have any suggestions?

That's great, thanks jizzi. As yo noted the RC channel axles are smaller and look more scale then other metal axles. My main concern is, can they with stand the punishment of climbing? I like to keep the truck as scale as possible with minimal mods, and I like the look of the RC channel. However if they are not very durable then I would rather buy other manufacture. any one else have any suggestions?
