I was able to score a set of Joe Cool aluminum wheels for my hilux. These are 1.9 size and fit all the killer tires that have been coming out.

I popped one on my hilux to see what they would look like. I think ultimately these are going to go on my Juggerlux truck

they are one piece and in 1.9 size so they fit all the 1.9 tires out there.

I'm interested in the set from rc4wd for the Hilux/Blazer.

They are 2.2 inch and fit the Hilux hubs. Any opinions on these?

I think Billg4 had a set of these and they were misdrilled for the hubs. Hopefully they have worked out those issues

Thanks, Shodog. And Billg4 can you fill us in?
Any other alternatives for 2.2 Hilux wheels?
The thing is I prefer the look of 2.2 wheels on the hilux, but I would still like to keep the original axles and manual locking hubs.

BruiserBuilder, Mark Thompson, and JPS are the only producers of 2.2 wheels that I know of. The M/T's allow you to eliminate the hub, and put the skateboard bearing in the wheel. They are the hardest to find as well.
RC4WD is the largest seller of aftermarket wheels for the vintage 3 speeds.
Bruiserbuilder is currently making an aluminum direct replacement for the Bruiser that looks very nice. You'll find those on eBay.
I, personally, prefer the JPS because of the scale look and lightweight.

Just a slight correction. The Mark Thompsons require the use of the stock hub. It's the Bruiser builder and new RC4wd wheels that are hubless

The hilux axles use an e clip to attach the hub so they don't work very well with hubless designed wheels.

....interesting.....the set I had eliminated the hub, but it appears that the currently made wheels do not....I stand corrected.

Are you sure that they were mark Thompsons and not the first generation BruiserBuilder wheels. If I recall correctly after mark said he was no longer interested in having them produced, Forrest produced a run that was very similar to mark's original designs

Here are a set of Mark Thompsons which you can see, need the hub.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused.
I'm looking for 2.2 alum. wheels that fit the original Hilux hubs.
The only option I could found is the RC4WD ones. And shodog mentioned there were quality issues with those.

To the best of my knowledge. They were 2-piece, thick as Oprah (and as heavy), 6 spoke with a bolt in each spoke...I'll post a pick if I find one.

Sorry for the sidetrack BlackDog....check out the JPS classic 9-hole wheels. They bolt on to the hubs, and look great.

Those are definetly Bruiser Builder. I had a set on my bruiser crewcab but have since sold them off in favor of a set of RC4WD beadlock wheels

Shodog,
I also got a set of these GREAT wheels from Joe Cool but plan on using them on a Tamiya Blazing Blazer. Anyone have any thoughts on what tires I should get to use with these wheels?
