I am just finishing up my F350 with some 2.2 Moab and a set of bead lock wheels and I was wondering if it's better to leave the foam in the tiers? Or take them out? Any thoughts? Also I asked already but does any one run metal axles?

the moabs are so soft, I don't think they would have the support to keep the truck up. if the foam is too stiff for you, cut some of the outside diameter off then find some other foam that is softer and put it on the outside diameter.

cut 1/2" off outside edge and cut the remaining foam in a star pattern; i will put up a link for the pattern i found along time ago for what i did for these

just a series of geometric lines, cut out the darkened area - i have quite a few crawlers and some of the tires i do i use metall bb's in the tire with the foam for weight and if i use my trail truck in wet or creeks etc. i take out the foams completly and use plastic air soft pellets instead - i fill the inside of front and rear tires with different amounts to distribute the weight i am looking for on the axles

too much details ? too big of pictures i know :sorry:, i cant get in to edit them right now for some reason to shrink em down

some helpful information i hope

cheers

That's perfect, the more details and pictures the better. I am not new to RC, but I am new to the 350 and crawling so any information you guys can give me the better. I am looking for axles for two reasons really, one for more scale looks and better durability for crawling then the stock plastic ones. I was looking through a lot of pictures and video's on you tube but don't seem to see many guys using metal axles. Just was wondering what guys in the forum think about using metal axles and which ones are better. Thanks for the information i will give that a try.
