Just curious if the CR01 is taking over the TLT-1? As in they wont make a TLT-2, but concentrate their efforst on for future prospects of Cr02?

I think it is a bit early in the game to know this.

The TLT-1 is a timeless classic. Mine has a couple of simple mods (WW2 tires, blackcan, 25t pinion gear) but retains the stock look & feel.

The only impovements that are needed for it (if a TLT-2 comes out) would be a wider wheel base & lower center of gravity - that is why I have the WW2 tires on there, to keep it from rolling over in a moderately high speed turn.

A longer wheelbase would improve stability more than if it's widened. It's already as wide as long.

I too think it's to early, but don't think we will see a "tlt-2" anytime soon. The truck has already been released twice after all so it will most likely be some time if it ever was to be released. Right now the 2 highlifts, and the CR-01 are out, they'd be smart to wait at least a full year before putting something on the market that would compete with current product.

Before we have a new TLT-2, it should be TXT-2 first :omg:.

I agree - put me down for two TXT-2 kits :willy_nilly:.

I would perhaps consider the CR-01 as an evolution of the TLT-1 ?

I've seen on other message boards about a tlt-2 coming out since 2005 - just wishful thinking & rumors of course.

The only way I could see the "tlt-2" compete with the CR-01 & high-lifts is price. Even then, they are worlds a part since the CR-01 crawls out of the box & the high-lift has a MFU & 3-speed. (My next purchase is going to be a F-350) :willy_nilly:

I was told that the TXT-1 evolved from the "Jugg" family, so if that were true the TXT-1 would actually be a Jugg-3.

I do like the Chevy bodies on the Jugg family - it makes it look more realistic because it is a based off of a real truck (from my childhood at least).

My tlt-1 is a mild basher for the most part. The closest it comes to being even considered a crawler would be the locked center diff - lol.

The TLT-1 is 1-18 scale, the CR-01 is 1/10 - its chassis is nearly as large as a clod busters.

So for that reason, I don't see the new crawler as any evolution of the 1/18 TLT-1.

A TXT-2 would be awesome. If Tamiya released a live axle competitor to the new E-REVO I'd certainly buy one, after all, a true monster truck needs live axles!

I believe the Juggs are Fords and the original Clodbuster had a Chevy body; the re-issued clod has a generic Chevy body.

I think Longhair was talking about the fact that the 80's chevy body suits the old school monster truck chassis of the juggernaut trucks - a 1999 ford F-350 doesn't belong on a 1980's leaf sprung monster truck chassis
