Out of curiosity I thought it might be interesting to know what engines the MFUs sounds are recorded off of.

Going over the information provided with the full operation tanks you realize that most of them actually feature the real engine sound of that particular tank, thus different sounds for different tanks!

The MFC-01 was developed alongside the Knight Hauler. Does that imply that they used the sound of a Detroit diesel for the MFC-02? I ask because I know some Euro trucker claim the recorded sound does not match the Euro trucks.

The MFC-02 features two sounds, "V8 engine and a spunky small-displacement turbo engine". One might assume (hope) that they are a Ford engine and a 2.2L/2.4L 4 cylinder Toyota motor (like the old Hiluxes used to run).

Anybody here that knows exactly what engines were used?

we recorded it from a big-block V8 here in the states. As for the small-displacement turbo engine, I'm unsure because it wasn't done here to my knowledge.

From what I have heard, so this is unofficial, the V8 sounds are from the actual V8 F-350 and the 4 banger was from a Toyota. Again, just what I heard, so I don't know this for sure.

Larrio, perhaps you could disclose what big block V8 you guys used? As I said, it would be fun to know. Same goes for the other engine sounds too- perhaps you could ask Tamiya Inc.?

I was there for the recording but I can't disclose the actual engine, my apologies.

All I can say is American big-block V8.
