Hey guys, I'm in the process of building a mud bogger out of a Hilux Toyota. I just bought a set of 2.2 Mud Slingers and Proline 8 shooter beadlocks. I need advice on tranny, motor, electronics, etc. Thanks, SLUFOOT1

Well, since this is a 3 speed only web site, I would say you need to stick with the stock tranny.

Well I've thought about staying with the stock tranny, but I'm concerned about how it will hold up in the mud. Thanks, SLUFOOT1

In my first High-lift I ran my stock tranny and motor in everything from snow, water, mud, sand, horse manure, and clay without any problems even down to -20F The stock High_lift is really an amazing truck but if you put the bigger tires I would recommend a motor with more torque like a Novak Fifty-five crawler or Integy 55t. I know this is the 3speed area but I have an RC4wd r2 tranny in one of my Hiluxs and it is really cool although very slow with just one speed it gave me extra ground clearence.
